Supernatural in CO

Wednesday, September 21st, 2005

So I’m watching Supernatural on WB (by happenstance I swear) and they’re at Lost Creek Wilderness in Colorado. The two main characters just posed as CU Boulder students (though they said “UC Boulder”).

iPod nano

Monday, September 19th, 2005

Stopped by the Apple store today. Yes, the iPod nano is that small. It’s insane. The demo models at the store were pretty scratched up, but they still looked pretty nice.

What to watch next?

Saturday, August 13th, 2005

So now that we’ve finished Farscape does anyone have any ideas for what we should watch next? I know Sports Night has been mentioned, so I’ve added it to our queue. I also want to re-watch Battlestar Galactica season one, but we’ll wait till it hits DVD.

The Rain

Tuesday, August 9th, 2005

The dull roaring sound I’ve been hearing all morning is apparently the rain pouring down outside the office. I’m glad Erica decided not to ride to school today.

Here it comes

The Triangle Triathlon is this weekend.

Sunday swim suprise

Sunday, June 26th, 2005

We went out to Lake Crabtree County Park and did a practice swim for the Triangle Triathlon next month. To my surprise I swam the 1/2 mile course in 13:20 and 14:20 (we did the course twice). I was expecting about 15:00 to 16:00 so I’m really psyched that I might actually be able to […]

The JCDL Tour

Tuesday, June 14th, 2005

In an interesting twist of fate, the JCDL conference has been (or will be) hosted in the three cities (or at least right next to them) that I’ve lived in since my family left California when I was 5. Tucson (ages 5-15). Denver (Boulder, ages 15-24). Chapel Hill (Durham, age 24-present).

War Games II: The Deadly Key

Monday, May 2nd, 2005

Worst Idea of the Week: War Games II: The Deadly Key — “will follow Cory Carpenter on a class trip in Europe when the authorities wrongly mistake him for a cyber criminal.” I really want to know who thought this would be a good idea.

Rosie O’Donnell

Wednesday, April 27th, 2005

Rosie O’Donnell uses Flickr and she has a weblog. What a crazy world we live in.

Serenity Trailer

Wednesday, April 27th, 2005

The Revenge of the Sith trailer is pretty good, but Lucas has me a little nervous after Ep. I and II. Joss Whedon I trust a bit more. Which makes the new KICK-ASS Serenity Trailer all the better.

Between the Bridges by Sloan

Note to self: Need to check out Between the Bridges by Sloan

Falling behind!

Wednesday, April 13th, 2005

Wow, we’re really falling behind on the Great Oscar Project. A Man for All Seasons has been sitting next to the DVD player for weeks.

Google Satellite

Tuesday, April 5th, 2005

I can see my house! Actually, that’s not quite right.

uo now dry

Tuesday, March 29th, 2005

Just heard on BBC Newshour: Residents and Police in Norman, OK report rising problems with off-campus parties due to a new dry campus policy at the University of Oklahoma. I know universities are concerned about drinking, but is pushing it off-campus into the city really the best solution?

the elements of user experience is in boulder

Wednesday, February 23rd, 2005

Jesse James Garret’s elements of user experience is going to be in Boulder (but not Raleigh). Oh well, I probably couldn’t afford it if they were here.
