BSG DVD ASAP

Tuesday, February 7th, 2006

Holy crap, you can get the first part of Battlestar Galactica season 2 on DVD already?! Didn’t they show these episodes like two months ago? I can now watch BSG on Sci-Fi, then download the episode on iTunes, and then buy the DVD on Amazon within weeks of each other. Oh, I do so love […]

Too damn many

Monday, February 6th, 2006

I have too many accounts. I can’t keep track of them anymore. I sign-up and try virtually every online service I find. Particularly weblogs, email offerings and feed readers. Is there a self-help group for people who have 15 email addresses?

A sampling:

MySpace Facebook LiveJournal WordPress.com Tabulas TypePad GMail, Google Talk MyRealBox Hotmail, MSN IM Yahoo! Mail, IM, etc AOL IM, AIM Mail And more!

iPod nano

Monday, September 19th, 2005

Stopped by the Apple store today. Yes, the iPod nano is that small. It’s insane. The demo models at the store were pretty scratched up, but they still looked pretty nice.

Bloglines borked

Monday, May 2nd, 2005

Oops. I’ve trying to reorganize my RSS subscriptions in Bloglines so I’m better about staying up-to-date. Well, in the process I accidentally deleted a group of feeds. Fortunately, I have a backup of my blogroll, so I imported it back into Bloglines. This created a bunch of duplicate subscriptions. So I deleted everything and tried […]

Dashboard

So after a night playing with Magpie RSS I give you Dashboard. An up-to-date look at all the (mostly meaningless) information I contribute to the global interweb.

Books, books, books

Tuesday, January 28th, 2003

I love books! So needless to say, I think All Consuming is great fun. You can see the books I’m reading over there on the right. The site has a SOAP API as well, so more entertainment may be forthcoming.

Then again, I always say that and I never do anything about […]

What price for Windows?

Sunday, December 1st, 2002

Geoff Gasior at The Tech Report has an article up where he explains why he thinks Microsoft doesn’t charge too much for Windows. He has some good points, and some bad, but most importantly doesn’t even touch on the biggest issue (in my mind). I can’t afford Windows right now, and (as far […]

Smarter browsing, now with Snippets!

Saturday, November 23rd, 2002

A tool called Net Snippets allows you to copy web pages, or merely clippings from them, and add comments, keyword, remarks, etc. and then file then like bookmarks. This is what bookmarks should have been from the beginning!

Seriously, we have massive amounts of hard disk space, its not like we can’t quickly spider a […]

Cool PDAs

Wednesday, November 20th, 2002

So I have a Compaq iPaq which I never use. The biggest problem for me is that its just not very portable. So I really like the looks of this new Zaurus and this two-piece combo. In the mean time, I really wish I could afford a Danger HipTop.

No matter what the […]

Impressions on Straw (the aggregator)

Thursday, November 14th, 2002

So I just reinstalled Gentoo and finally got Straw to build. I’m impressed so far. Does an excellent job of finding feeds from URLs (RSS autodetection), clean UI, easy to get working and configure. I can think of two things I still need though… Drag’n drop subscription from the browser (drag a […]

The case for paper ballots

Normaly I’m a pretty big gadget freak. Normally I disagree with Glenn Reynolds (aka InstaPundit). But this article is right on. Also note a similar Salon article.

Is there beauty in ASCII art?

Sunday, October 27th, 2002

I like simple designs. Crowded pages are distracting, they move the user’s focus from content to presentation. This usually makes finding content ona site a chore rather than the natural function of the site.

I appreciate sites like NTK, craigslist, and Google becuase content is presented in a clean, straightforward fashion. They make […]
